Thread regarding Manulife Financial Corp. layoffs

It would appear by some of the more mature and rational comments being expressed here recently that there in fact layoffs happening, perhaps on a larger scale than what was reported in the local paper. It seems quite unfortunate that good and capable people are losing jobs for the sake of the bottom line. Perhaps this is part of Manulife's mandate to become a global player - hire as many resources in developing nations as possible. When does the madness end? By the sounds of it (and related blogs) this will work against Manulife on a number of fronts - loss of good talent, and competitors now able to pick up the good talent. Good luck to those ousted and probably to those that have been sentenced to stay.
