In addition to the Bora-Bora / Four Seasons outing, GB conducted a lavish off site sales meeting at a Scottsdale, AZ resort the previous week. Hundreds of employees involved in sales and supporting roles participated. This behavior has been taking place for many years!
One of the most profound changes took place when GB purchased Nortel’s CVAS business. The massive layoffs that followed left Genband with partially utilized Nortel campus buildings, significant overhead, and a business culture that mirrors failed Nortel.
Wireline products and services, a significant part of Genband’s business, is in decline as a result of increased focus on wireless networks by major carriers.
GBs financials are unacceptable to their investors. The end result will be a continuation of layoffs, an increasingly difficult work environment and inability to deliver products and features in a timely manner.
