Everyone has shoplifters in every store, you can't blame low coverage. I ran on two part coverage during peak weeks and focused on selling and not policing my customers. We drove top line sales, made comp plus 20%, bonused, and maintained a low shrink in a VERY undesirable area ( thug central ) all with minimum wage workers. It's all up to the store manager and how she addresses her team and the issues at hand. I never once complained or made excuses ( lack of payroll, horrible directives from home office, ect... ) and we came out on top. If our store could do EVERY store can do it!
