I live in city of Alameda and we need more public resources and not less public resources. Look at the Southshore center and the beach - it's often dirty - we need folks who can clean it up. The whole area around Lincoln is in shambles. The Alameda public library is falling apart. Overall, we are going through a crisis and we need people to help us pull out of it. Now, look at Oakland and you will see why great cities fail - they fail when the public administration fails. Look other neighboring cities like San Leandro and you see the same pattern. So, overall - I know we think we should nuke people and save some money but this will hurt us in the long run. This will affect City of Alameda, County of Alameda, California and USA. It affects everyone, we should keep our public workers on payroll but we need to make sure we make them work and productive.
