it's funny how they always tie layoffs with earnings. c-level and their honchos need to ensure that they pocket as much as they can from stock options etc. so, they take care of themselves. so, your numbers suck? don't worry about it - it's all good - just fire a ton of people, then go to the street and tell them that all work will be completed with less resources, so your profits and revenues are sucky, but you compensate by axing people. nice work, usa style management 101.
