With print volume going down and people more and more turning towards web and digital publishing how is Journal Register planning to survive? JR does not have a sound digital strategy and the quality of our content has been steadily declining for over a decade. I wish if I had any solution or if I would be able to provide any guidance, but in general I think that Journal is so behind the curve that it is going to be impossible to recover and bounce back. Maybe it'd be a good thing to split digital from the print and then to go into a bankruptcy with the print side and save the digital side. I personally know that many people here at Journal Register are personally attached to the company and are willing to do an extra push to make the company successful, however without a sound strategic direction provided by the Senior Leadership being more clear on the digital strategy. I get that John Paton is claiming that digital is first but all those Flip cameras he's handing out are not going to help us if there is no sound plan and if the plan is not clearly communicated to the folks that need to deliver it.
