Heard from multiple sources that the close will occur in mid-July, not September.

I guess this wasn’t true. Anadarko shareholders haven’t even had their vote yet. Close won’t happen till September or later.
COC. Crock of C-ap. Funny how $300MM can go to execs as their "fair share" and yet now the game is to screw every last penny out of the employees who made this company and got those quacks their bonuses. Employees band together and everyone take a week of PTO all at the same time.
I think the SEC needs to investigate our EC/Board behaviour prior to Chevron proposal.
I keep hearing July 15th or 18th? Any validity to this?
How could they close that quickly? Anadarko shareholders haven’t even had a chance to vote yet.
July 15th is the date. (Monday)
TCM = TLA = three letter acronym
Yes, with every TCM that passes more decisions are made to destroy value in the Delaware asset. Need to get all of the head nodders out ASAP!
mass layoffs soon as it closes
Oxy stock will be hammered until we can show positive results from the acquisition. The sooner the deal closes, the sooner that can happen.
OXY will not let APC continue destroying value in the Permian, that's why they want to close ASAP to accelerate value from the Permian acreage which is the main value driver in this deal.
Gotta show those G&A cuts before the end of the year...
This seems rather swift. Is there a strategic vision underpinning this expedition? Or are they strapped for cash and desperate to get their hands in their (own) cookie jar?
The FTC already approved the deal and terminated the waiting period. I don't see why the SEC would get in the way.
It all depends on whether the SEC decides to subject the acquisition to further review or just give an easy go-ahead. We should find out in the next few days. If they don’t review then I was hearing August. Don’t know when the shareholder vote is but really that’s just a formality.
We are hearing this on the Oxy side as well.
Have they had the Anadarko shareholders vote yet?
The EC wants to wrap this up so they have time to prepare for the Catalina Wine Mixer. I bet they get another 300 million efficiency bonus.
