Last year about 30 people were let go back in April. I was one of them. This was affecting Chicago location but I think the overall cut by Guaranteed Rate at that time exceeded 200 people. Now, the company has about 4,000 employees so 200 is a lot - almost 5%. That was a big hit for me and my family as it took me several months to find work.
Now, things are better - I am glad I left Guaranteed Rate - my new job has more responsibility but it's more rewarding and it's better paid. So, there was a ton of pain but all worked out.
I wish you all the best.
