Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Ridiculous

So sad that Eddie has so much money that he can keep buying properties & Sears hometown stores yet cannot give his associates a pay raise, or keep the stores in decent condition. I have not seen a pay raise in over 8 years even though my evaluations are outstanding. It says a lot when the CEO of Walmart asks Congress to raise the minimum wage. The new age of slavery Transformco!

@Zq8kviY-2vsx See when I kind of started at Sears thats how it was to me. We were getting good hours had a good team. At that time being the new cat I would close on a Monday I would just RAD my section (say I was from 4:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.) truck was done so a good hour is all I needed to straighten everything out. From 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. it was easy money to me. I would just await customers or take a longer break those were good times (last 30 minutes I would straighten everything and clean up).

When 2018 SST started it was the opposite effect. It was chaos no hours and so much freight you just couldn't keep up at that point. The store manager would just complain and and blame others because we were so behind. Despite never did a thing to help out. From going out and helping (only stayed in his office on the computer or on his personal phone) or trying to maybe call the DM and ask that we needed hours. He put the blame on us. It was not only physically draining but, mentally.

Those times were long gone when the store was very relaxing and slow. We use to sell a lot and they decided to just cut hours for their own gain. They always cut the wrong peoples hours the top stayed protected cut the bottom level.

Also to go back on topic Lampert never cared only he and his top buddies getting richer and richer. No matter how hard you worked in my store the only thing that was considered a promotion was getting a full time position along maybe a coordinator or lead position. A few more pennies or dollars. Unless you s---ed up to the store manager and you were a girl you had a chance of advancing. As well as a appliance sales person or mattresses had a little bigger chance of making more.

Hours, it’s just hours. If you’re lucky you work in a commission dept with customers. Our store still does a ton in appliances, those guys are making a k--ling. Tools isn’t half bad. The other areas are like a revolving door except a few stragglers who have worked there like 30 years.

Where did I say who can or cannot post on this forum?

I find it ridiculous that people not employed by Sears would post here, so being that the question was asked what is holding people to Sears, I asked a simple question to the non-sears employees-- what is holding you people here? ...crickets....

I stay because I dont have to work. We may get 50 customers in my 7 hour shift (on a good day) and I can surf the net and text when there is no one in the store. We have cleaned and brighted all that we can so the store is clean (as far as a Kmart can be clean). Easy money and I can get personal things done while getting paid. I might just go back to school online because I have so much time at work.

No customers means no work, no merchandise to stock, no one to serve = plenty of free time.

Even the managers sit around all day and talk or surf the internet.

Why are you posting the same message in all the posts?

I wonder why someone who is not an employee of Sears or Kmart would waste their time posting on this forum. What is holding you people here?

It's still toilet paper on P-cards and associates cleaning bathrooms in these parts. The contractors and QMTs were all let go during the bankruptcy, because Eddie is too cheap to hire people who are properly trained to maintain bigass mall spaces. As far as I can tell the elevators haven't run in more than a decade, the boilers are a health hazard, and rat feces is becoming an issue because for whatever reason extermination hasn't been worked out ever since the QMT hasn't been able to do whatever voodoo magic he did to keep us rat free. This will probably be a major remediation hazmat project someday.

But seriously, people who are still there, what is holding these people there?

Sears is in such bad shape, the last thing that will happen is raises.

Many Sears associates are losing their jobs because the stores they worked at are closing permanently.

You complain about your pay and then when someone suggests to you to leave for a better job to better yourself, you get all defensive and try to justify why you are staying in a job that does not make you happy.

You have nobody to blame but yourself in that situation.

For real though, as c-appy and toxic as it is, isn't Sears is an easy place to get promoted? Old people retire and people are leaving in droves. How did you not get a raise in eight years?

@Zq8kviY-xuu It really is none of your concern why I stayed at my job. I am sure that everyone has reasons for staying or leaving. Having said that it still does not give a employer the right to treat employees like that.

Fast Eddie is only concerned with Fast Eddie. The employees can go to hell for all he cares.

While I agree that Eddie's actions are despicable, i have to wonder why you are still at a place that hasn't given you a raise in 8 years

Eddie is only interested in the real estate....He does know how to, nor is interested in...running a successful retail operation.
