Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

Conference call today

Had a interesting conference call today with our dsl. According to him there is no stores even close to start getting product from there own warehouse. He insists we will be here tell next May. It's sad to hear him talk about our numbers and our saftey like where going to get a cookie at the end made of our asl p--p. I'm very confused I would like a end date soon. Can't deal with the stupidity and our dsl having his weekly conference call about saftey and sales numbers.

We got a guy who works for a bread company. We also have a guy who is begging for his old job back. It's a big mess but it'd also funny as hell. Plus everyone is all gonna apply for the same job as a team. There is also this one driver who want to get everyone in at the railroads. Says he bro made over a 100 grand last year. I'm gonna go work for uber with my co worker.

Our depot has that one guy. He’s weird and everyone calls him “special”. He’s promising us jobs at frito lay because he USED to work there.

I don’t depend on people and i already got an interview at frito next week. My resume and experience speak for itself

Before the announcement he was too good to speake to any of us and now he is the go to guy. Can't believe how a group of people can change up so fast. I honestly feel some people are goign to need mental help once they relise there losing there job. Can someone please tell me it's not like this at othere depots cause it's sad to be here with these clowns. I'm trying so hard to stay but this is getting out of hand.

You ppl just keep making up c-ap as you go along! No DSL is getting paid more bonus money to keep anyone! You all have the same opportunity including myself, if you want to stay then do so. If you don’t like it leave! Quit your damn b--ching and complaining already!!!!

I'm less worried about the end date. I heard from a recruiter (Fritolay) and they're basically just waiting for my call. Nobody should walk from that $$ but it doesnt mean you can make a plan too.

Pizza is going in September and Ice cream in October. This is confirmed. That would mean most of us will have our 60 day notice by the end of August. I think nestle is being very generous and If we keep a positive attitude we will all coast to a bonus and severance and have plenty of money to comfortably look for a good Job.

We were told at our meeting in May that the top 18 customers were already notified and said OK with Nestle doing this.

@ seriously. You must not have taken an economics course or have any fundamental idea of how much money Nestle will have to pay out to us if we keep working longer than expected dates with sales continuing to decrease. Some will experience notices being given in September undoubtedly. You are mindless in the sense of believing that stores had no knowing of this coming from Nestle. This had been coming a long time with many discussions to get major accounts on board. Look at Walmart and how rapidly they have implemented their Pick-Up and Delivery grocery system. Hope you truly don’t believe in staying anytime past december realistically.

actually nestle is really making it hard for people to leave with the retention bonus of 40% of pay. the national average of companies when they offer the same is only 15% so just stick it out unless you find a job that can pay u the same or more.

listen nestle is not a company to keep paying us a 40% retention rate for very long. they have always been cheap. and as for the dsl if they make is through the end of the year their bonuses must be paid. most @8000 to 15000 thats a lot of cash for the company to spit up. i believe after ice cream season ( im in great lakes area) it will begin they need the numbers for the summer to put a proper price on selling the ice cream division. not only that when stores do start to drop they are paying our route averages. so reps go from 30 stores to 20 and u still get paid your route target. doesnt sound like something nestle will do for long.

@ seriously. We are all at the bottom of a very large totem pole. Of course, we are left in the dark. The “important people” at top have been working on this for some time now. It will end sooner than you think. Keep living in denial! It’s a safe place for you!

GOOD LORD relax ! This is going to end for all of us. It's starting to look as if no plan was in place before the announcement. Maybe even a hasty decision on compensating us until the end. You have an opportunity to walk away with 40 cents of every dollar you make until your end date. That for many of us, be in the 50k range. Stop sniveling and whining! Get your financial affairs in order. Plan out your next move. I've actually never heard of a company giving 6-12 months advance notice of termination. Getting back to the hasty decision. Stores are not remotely close to be ready for this change. There was no rumors about this. They received notification around the same time as all of us. They are pushing back, many telling Nestle no. They will have to negotiate terms with every account we service. None of them are going to let this transition happen during holiday season. That 50k could turn into even more. Do your job, have some self pride. Or leave now if your that much of a fool.

I have heard some dates from SoCal area. Supposedly Walmart’s are aiming for Sept 1. to take our pizza. Was also told by the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. other accounts should be transitioning as well. From close relief friend who spoke to our ASL. Hope this is some insight for anyone else in Cali aimlessly wondering when this date will come directly from the company who has left us in the dark.

Anybody else think that the DSLs was offered a bonus based off of how many reps they can keep on board until the end?

Our old timers are still working like it’s there first day 30 years ago. I don’t ask my dsl anytime I’ve been calling our asl who was smart to take a position with the warehouse side before the big meeting. It’s truly hard to come into work everyday not knowing when our last day is going to be. Has anyone in California actually gotten there 60 days yet. I know Alex down in Bakersfield said it has started down in the Los Angeles area. Then it will work it’s way up here. Also heard drivers will be the first to go once the stores start getting product on there own trucks.

I can’t believe it’s been a month and no news from stores on when they might be taking over. I thought we would have at least heard the big chains Target, Walmart etc have a plan for taking over pizza during the summer and ice cream during the winter. Maybe we won’t get any notice and they’ll just start ordering and merchandising. Wasn’t there a thread about Publix taking over in August/September? I would have guessed that timeline would be ideal for a lot of stores. The sooner the better.
