I heard reduced severances mentioned as a possibility to further cut costs during layoffs - can it be true? I have a hard time believing they would kick us when we are already down. That might be a bit too much, even for TSYS.

I’m afraid that most people at the campus don’t see this coming. A lot have worked at TSYS for their entire careers and would never expect this. Now they will be screwed over for sure. TSYS better have a few paramedics on scene when they $&@@ up people’s lives.
Yes I work in HR. When the first large scale layoffs occur in September severance on average for every employee over 5 years will be around 25% of the previous amount. The call center is the only business that's safe. Campus is going to be a blood bath, presently looking at around 500 job Rif right before the "merger of equals"

Packages are not for everyone. If you're in an hourly non-exempt role, no severance will be offered. So yes, to a large degree, this is 100% true.
People, wake up. This is not a good move for the people of Columbus that helped elevate TSYS to what they are. At the end of the day, money talks, and the Board plays another round of Golf.
