Thread regarding Johnson Controls Inc. layoffs

If it makes you feel any better, those engineers in India are pathetically bad and their average turnover rate is around 8 months. The system itself is made of so much complex legacy items that the learning curve to become comfortable with dev-work is about a year. There is virtually 0 chance of success for Infosys with JCI's current organizational structure and management practices. It's obvious to any engineer that has had to suffer working at that company, but removing productive and capable employees in favor of hiring entire groups of id–ts who step all over each other's toes and deliver products that barely function for the price of 1 decent developer makes the incompetent hiring staff and incompetent management look good through the misinformed lenses of the incompetent executives.

This is a company who gave out a survey asking their ground-level employees if they think the company does well from an ethical standpoint and then got "p-ss-d" because the employees answered "no." (this was right after a merger with Tyco, when the President of Engineering's near-death at the hands of his wife because of a highly-publicized affair he had was still fresh in everyone's mind) In reaction the executives forced all ground-level employees to play a modified version of the game "Second Life" where the employee walked around an island and had to decide whether or not to made completely black-and-white multiple-choice moral decisions along the lines of "should I help this stranger steal my co-worker's laptop, or should I report this to the legal department?"

I understand getting laid off s—s, and if you think you have a discrimination case I would pursue it. (class-action if it's an option, please!) But you'll probably find yourself much happier in the not-too-distant future since you no longer have to deal with them.

I'm also a protected Veteran, and was let go 2 years ago. JCI is a disaster for it's employees. Nancy fits right in. We were an are a family of professional. Even though we are gone from JCI we still communicate and help each other. Is Infosys ever going to deliver that type of commitment? I don't think so.

Infosys took over, heard sh– is already going down. Burn JCI, burn with Nancy inside.

The Layoff's, AKA firings and outsourcing has been a thing for more than 2 years now.

It just took time to trickle down to other departments who no doubt thought "they would never get rid of us, we're too valuable."

Sorry, JCI will send anything not nailed down away or offshore.

At this moment, someone in Bratslava, India or Monterrey could have been hired and is sitting around waiting for the word to come down to pack their bags and head your way to learn your thing.

Bad news, VSP will get worse and worse.

The lucky ones were the ones who were let go last year with decent packages. They're already on new jobs or getting benefits due to people who found their jobs offshored.
