Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Can people reapply?

Can those who were laid off and received severance reapply for a job at SAP? And if that's a possibility, what happens to severance?

You will not be re-hired

Even if you did after 2 years, you start from fresh (vacation time etc), no service credits.

why bother.

You can find another role internally if it is during the notice period and before receiving severance. However, HR has told me they can't rehire for 2 years after receiving severance.

Don’t be crazy. Take the severance and find something else. Even if somehow you get an offer, your terms will be different and you may not get anything if you are shown the door some months later. As a “new” member in the dept there is also high chance of “last in first out “.

There is a 2 year moratorium for all those affected (in 2015 it was 1 year). You cannot be rehired (even as a c-user) w/o board member approval. HR of course, does not make this public and leads people to believe they can easily be rehired.

Sure, you can reapply - you will never be hired, but you can certainly apply.
