Guess the person from the last reply learned about yesterday’s layoffs. Don’t forget that it is spelled HIPAA not hippo or hypo or HIPPA. We all learned that much from the stupid 100 slide compliance training.

HIPPA and ACA are to different acts. HIPPA from mid 90s and ACA "Obamacare" in the late 2000s thru 2017. HIPPA deals with how PHI is handled/transmitted/saved/exposed, etc. HIPPA had a direct effect on EHR/PM software vendors products/procedures. ACA deals with Insurance coverage for the folks who did not have insurance. Allscripts does not have any ACA products. It was never a direction any EHR/PM software company moved into. They develop software ; they are not a insurance provider. HIGHTECH act is different then ACA. This also has profound effect on software vendors. So to say Allscripts was smart enough NOT to base their "go to market" strategy around Obamacare has NO weight. Allscripts has no market strategy.

Regardless of who was first to market in Obamacare, it’s hard to deny that Allscripts doesn’t hold the market. Obamacare is done. Hopefully, Allscripts wasn’t dumb enough to base their to-market strategy on it. All though I do remember reading someplace in Sharepoint that they did something like that in a training presentation long ago.

Please tell us more on how EPIC was first to market with Obama Care?

Epic owns the lion share since they were first to market with Obummer Care. Cerner comes in second because of scale. The only place Allscripts has left is the Middle East and Asia. But they c-apoed out in Singapore. The other strategy of buying companies like Practice Fusion doesn’t seem to work either with all the lawsuits and investigations happening.
