Seriously, I left two years ago, I was certain it would be long gone by now... My condolences to all who still have to deal with this mess.

baxa,,, why is an Assistant Dean given the job of delivering this news? Doesn't anyone further up the chain have the courage to sign off on this?
Uh-oh, I remember when some faculty were summoned to a meeting and others weren't. I was not included in that meeting, and it turned out that all who were invited were fired. I hope that is not the case with the 7/3 meeting...
No fake news. The email was sent out to everyone last week by the new Assistant Dean at Addison.
auha What! Are you kidding me? Zorek's called a meeting on the 3rd? Impossible! Not even he's that foolish. I didn't get anything! Fake news.
baar...maybe he's leaving...
aqde...he had them all numbered, you know...he's keeping track...just like Captain Queeg and the strawberry incident
@Zgud0it-9cmb, would you be willing to talk to Veterans Education Success?
He prolly wants the inventory of all the leftover chips from student appreciation days
auha: any details? What is the meeting about?
Zorek is calling a mandatory meeting on July 3. The Grinch who stole Independence Day ! What would happen if no one came?
I calculate that at best adjunct pay amounts to about $5 per hour for a minimum of 60 hours per week to even begin to teach 60+ students anything. How can any level of quality feedback be provided for so many students? I calculate full-time faculty may be doing so-so/OK as far as salaries go. But, I can't imagine any level of professional fulfillment among them.
Class sizes have doubled and in many cases tripled, with 60+ students in each online class now the norm. This means that the revenue per class is now approximately $110,000 and with faculty pay of $2400, the faculty are paid only 2% of the revenue generated from each class. Many classes now require extra work for each student with more papers to grade. There is also an additional requirement for 90 minute live lectures each week that require extensive prep and recording time. The workload that is now being requested is at least two to three times what was demanded previously with no increase in pay, which amounts to a major pay cut and continuing abuse of faculty. I have refused to support this increased workload without a raise and today received a notice that my services will no longer be required. Good riddance, I will find a more reasonable organization to support.
7xmu...what can you point to in order to substantiate a claim that things have changed for the better?
I'm speaking from a non-professor role...
7xmu will you be sharing that in any upcoming engagement surveys?
I have not heard that things have changed for the better--quite the contrary. Can you provide details? Are you currently employed? In what kind of role?
A lot of changes with the parent company. And now that devry is a stand alone schools, prior expectations of this school have changed for the better.
