The only negative of waiting for the severance is that everyone hits the job market at the same time.
$50k will go fast with no other income coming in.
Timing might work out for a few, but those are going to be few and far between.

The most logical and intelligent decision would be to start looking for another job. It takes months to find a GOOD paying job nowadays.
Yup, take the package & wait for unemployment on the back end. It’ll be close to $50K plus unemployment afterwards & that’s actually more $$ over a calendar year. Can always supplement by doing some local work for cash. Can’t be bitter as stuff like this happens with both large & small companies. Time to reinvent myself as I’m too young to retire.
I agree with @Zg2QO8d-2dsk . I also feel that most of those who are upset and super in their feelings, is because they know they won't be able to get away with the ish they get away with here. New company will teach them what being disciplined means.
Why do I feel like the people starting these kind of threads are that guy we all work with?
The guy with one goal, to hurry up and get done every day. The guy that left his stores looking like c-ap. The guy that never cleaned the cab of his truck or swept out the box. The guy that never shut his mouth at meetings even though he was the weakest link.
Go get a job at the comic book store where you belong.
What about applying writhing Nestle to another division? That way you get your retention bonus and a job. Like getting a sign on bonus.
If you break it down, look at actually how many people in your area will be looking. Hubs is da in Florida and there will be 3 looking for jobs in our city at the time he will. That’s not so bad if you break it down
if u are getting 50K severance your an id--t to not take plus unemployment on backside the 50 k jobs are few and far between take the package
