Any notice that the employees laid off are not eligible for rehire? That hasn’t been the case in the past. Is this a way to avoid future contributions to the pension?

You can be rehired if you have critical skills that the organizations are lacking in. However, I would never go back to a place that had laid me off previously, who is to say they wouldn’t do it again if given the chance?
I look at it as if my wife booted me out of the house to shack up with the poolboy and then asked me to move back in after the poolboy left saying "it was all a mistake honey, I want you back". HAHAHAHA, no, I'm not coming back and you can stick your "sorry' in your ear.
Would you really even consider coming back to Ford even if asked? For FFS have some self respect. It works both ways!!!!
Ford is the land of exceptions. The wording was crystal clear. So long permanently.
I know of two people who were fired for cause; later to reappear as contractors; one rehired; one released. An LL3 signed off on both.
I know of one contractor released for serious cause, flagged as not rehire-able, back again as a contractor two years later. An LL3 signed off on it.
Not true, I know of several employees that were separated by SIRP in the recession and were brought back in as green stripes only to be hired direct shortly after. It just has to be signed off by an LL3 to rehire.
Is that really the rationale? For pension reasons?
Irregardless it seems a little messed up to label someone as not eligible for rehire unless there’s a serious reason.
Not eligible for rehire, just like 2008. However, many 2008 casualties later came back as contractors.
