Will more buyouts be offered in 2019 or 2020?

Does anyone know or have a feeling if buyouts will be offered again in 2019 or in 2020?

I was not eligible last year to take the buyout, as I was short 1 year both for age and time with the company. After this past week, I've already told my wife that is they offer a buyout package again, if it is anything close to what they offered last year I am taking it.

Honestly, I don't know why they did not offer it again this year first before going with involuntary separations? Would have created some good will and likely would have had some takers, as I know more than one person whom was waiting to hit the 30 year milestone....they would have likely taken a buyout had it been offered.

In 2018 there were a few plants and other areas where large percentages if people signed up for PRP. Our VP said that even though it was going to be a rough they were going to allow everyone who wanted PRP to take PRP. He made it seem like this was a surprise. If the leadership team shares this feeling I would expect changes in PRP.

In 2008 they had people who they would not allow to go because they were too valuable to the company. I few of us were locked out and we joked about acting like asses so they would give us packages

The offer last year was targeted towards or at least makes an argument that Big blue was targeting heavy hitters in the salary range and pensioners since the 10 year minimum 55 yo minimum were qualifiers.

Many LL's above the 6 level took the deal.
