Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Do you see any reduced management layers ??

SRD almost done, and I haven’t noticed any reduced management layers - I’ve heard about more promotions than lay offs.

Also.... Heard some one (an LL) saying that an upper level management (VP) friend is trying to get the LL promoted - because they are friends- why else???

Looks like nothing has changed...

If they are replacing an ll3 with an lll4 in their place how is this saving them money when the pay Structure hasn’t changed? In 5 years they will be making the same amount as the ll3 they replaced

I saw some who took the buyouts last year weren't replaced. In some cases, if a LL3 retired, their LL4s now report to LL2.

However, in other cases, even though those laid off weren't to be "displaced", what actually happened was they changed job level for the position...e.g., LL3 got canned, put an LL4 in their place. Didn't reduce any layers, but saves some money.

There will always be those type of people no matter where you work.

I saw some LL6 supervisors are demoted to GSR8, and they are fine with it ( Personally talked to them)
