Boy we are hurting so bad we need to lay people off but hey come to our celebration and check out our fancy train station that we are dumping money in. Listen to us tell how we will create thousands of new jobs when this opens up which we highly inflated the amount of actual new jobs that are being created for people to apply to. Oh and maybe we will demonstrate how we are throwing money at a stupid robot to deliver packages up to 40 pounds. And hopefully we can give our CEO another raise like the one he just got for all his hard work.

Was the goodwill toward the city of Detroit and paying the ransom money from the Maroun family worth all this week's carnage? This has forever changed my attitude
Capitalism has run completely out of control. We need to end it.
This is an example of of big business out of control. I like capitalism, but this is a clear example of it's downside. You have leaders who are lost, investors who are pounding on the leaders to make a profit, they don't care how it's done. In my opinion this whole stock market, 401k stuff is junk. It has lead us in the wrong direction and ruined working America. I'd rather work for a private company, where there is no investor pressure on leadership. Once that pressure from investors is put on leadership, this is what you get. Auto companies are struggling for ideas, while Wall Street anaylists are pounding on them to better their balance sheet. I hope the system crashes!!
Train station was viewed as a way to improve recruiting, a problem area.
I think the robot is a poor attempt to show our leaders can be great visionaries shaping the future.
We have largely the same leadership. Farley said it would take 10 years to make Lincoln profitable. He also said we would sell more electric focus cars than GM sold Volts.
Ditto to GM. That train station would be better utilized for mass transit high speed rail. I absolutely agree, hey let's sink all this cash into a building but wait! First we need to fire everyone. What in the FK !?!? GM want to build electric bikes and Harley Davidson too, again what the FK!?!? These companies are running in circles like a dog chasing it's tail.
The company is like an episode from Seinfeld “Bizarro World” we’re up is down, left is right, good is bad. Leadership is totally suspect. There is no accountability or responsibility from any level of management on any of these layoffs. Everybody had nothing to do with it. Still looking for the guy or gal behind the curtain. We don’t need to worry about the competition when we have this type of internal leadership.
Not only should you be angry about it as a Ford employee, but also a tax payer. Ford is asking for $250 million in tax breaks from Detroit and the state for buying the station.
Sure makes that big celebration where they said how much they cared about Detroit seem disingenuous.
"Oh we care so much about this city... BTW, could we pull a quarter of a billion dollars out of your pocket?"
Give me a break.
