Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Decent deal at Tamaroff Honda

If you are looking to buy new and are considering Honda because they offer reliable vehicles in segments Ford will not be competing in check Tamaroff (Southfield). They were over 10% cheaper than my local dealer.

There is a Ford connection -- the dealership is run by the husband of our CMO.

As much as I hate what is going on. I want Ford to be successful. We should. You put money into a pension and do not want the company to fold. Yea, buy that Ford. Always enjoyed and believed in the vehicles.

For the OP, I am the 3rd poster. No way bro, taking advantage of a bad situation with sleazy salesman tactics. Anyway possible to make a buck I guess. No way I'd go with an ambulance chaser

You worked for Ford and Ford paid you a salary/benefits for this work. There is no need to be loyal if you are let go - you do not owe them your loyalty anymore. If you still want to be loyal to Ford - great!

At this point, buy what you like/want!! I've had great experiences with my Ford products over the years but will certainly shop other brands.

FYI: I am the OP. The third comment was made by another individual.

My intent was just to perhaps help a fellow Ford employee who lost their job and was looking a new, reliable Honda car. It is common knowledge that Honda makes reliable cars and that Ford will not be selling cars in NA. If I could save the former Ford employee about $3k upfront and more in resale that would be good

I am one of the fortunate ones that did not get cut this week. However, I read this string and think it is sad when someone considers buying another nameplate in an "i'll show you" act of retaliation. Had I been cut, I would have still be grateful to a company that employed me for more than 20 years, allowed me a roof over my family's heads, food on my table and put kids through College. Granted, this situation s---s, but don't turn on the company that gave us all so much. Glass = Half Full!

Let's see..... better warranties, better transmissions, longer lasting, better quality, better resale value, usually the same price or cheaper, and made in the US! Not Ford but Toyota, Honda, Kia, and Hyundai! I know where my money is going for a new car and where it definitely is not (Ford)!
