Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Blood Bath

Today has been terrible for many. I know many managers from LL4 - LL6 (mostly 6) were let go. few GSRs. Two more days in this blood bath. Pure politics. Some of the people who have been shown the door are some of the hardest & brightest workers. The criteria of selection is differently broken.

This is all go down to politics. Has nothing with performance or potential. Real Shame. People who kiss up to management are definitely the safest as mentioned.

The Re-design would continue for HR & IT for more month. At least that what they claim for now.

I look at it this way. I worked nearly 20 years for this company, keeping my head down, doing my job. Was intensely friendly to my co workers, helping them if I could. Was calm in the face of adversity, laid back with those working for me. I did NOT play the game that many played, brown nosing the LL4s and LL5s. And Im NOT sorry one bit.

I may have been let go this week, but I never once compromised my belief system. You shouldn't have to lick another's boots to keep food on the table.

One LL4 was seemingly always busy cursing someone out or even throwing a water bottle across the room during a conference call. Another, openly critical during an offsite departmental picnic. A picnic! LL5s ranged from incompetent aloof baffoons to actually pretty good managers. I appreciated the good ones, abhored the bad ones.

These aren't the type of people I follow. These aren't the type of people to look up to, or cozy up to. And I sleep better at night knowing I made the infinitely right choice everytime I said No. And just did my job.
