Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Im leaving they dont have to fire me

I cant believe it has taken this long to see the light. Watching people get screwed out of their pensions they have worked their whole life for, I cant be a part of it. Throughout my time here I have worked my butt off and shown appreciation from this company of being the only company on the planet who makes employees pay for coffee and builds an office in the mall with barely any rest rooms. I wont have one more day of sitting next to 5 other grown men blowing out the toilet bowl in what I call the "full house". I have had enough I am done I am out of here...peace!!

TCO - Toilet Constrained Offices. We were lucky that at least one director, BT, had the foresight to see the issue before the construction was complete. He saw this and expanded the bathroom in 1G. I cannot imagine how bad it would be at TCO if this action was not taken. Too bad Ford Land and the other LL2s in other zones dropped the ball. Guess which Director is gone?

There were people who were almost 55 (early retirement supplement) or almost 30 years (unreduced retirement) that were let go. When you've worked 20+ years for a company and are just at the cusp of one of the dangling carrot prizes, it s---s.

About time someone said this this is great and totally true. My theory is this is Fords way of building team spirit and improving morale. Shove as many people into bathrooms as possible

Dont post any of that Ford talking point propaganda here. Whomever made this original post was spot on accurate. Also 9 months of pay for people who have been there for their entire career is garbage completely inaccurate it is generous. Your perfect for Ford dont go anywhere stay on the sinking ship.

No one who was released was denied their pensions or benefits. The Salaried Involuntary Separation Program had up to 9 months of severance pay, along with healthcare. That's not bad, compared to other companies. No one was walked out, and there is time to do some transition, assuming one wanted to. I didn't get released, but I was prepared.

Does someone out there still think that today's companies have some guarantee of a job for life? Those days are long gone... along with most people's desire to work at one location forever.

You think I was joking about toilets....not at all. Its amazing how people havent walked out. There have been times I have to go to the local gym because it gets embarrassing checking the bathroom for the 6th time in an hour and each time seeing work shoes under each and every stall. Ohh yea I tried the mall bathroom exactly one time too and there was a homeless guy completely naked shaving in there, crossed that option off pretty quick.
