Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Here is the hidden logic

IF you are <50 and <$130K ish you are 100% safe

IT dept is at risk because of some outsourcing discussions with T*S company

If you are a minority or colored person you are generally safe

H1Bs are safe

Agency budget is cut by 20% so expect to see either less billing rate or cuts

If you have 25+ years experience, earning 150K + you are NOT safe. Multiple levels of cuts expected.

If you have been identified as low performer in the past review you are NOT safe irrespective of race/age/gender.

That pretty much sums the game. This will go on for next 6 months.

From what I’ve experienced in my area, there is a lot of truth to this. The LL guys that were IGP’d or let go were All 30 year + white men that were in there mid 50’s. I’m guessing around the mid 150 range. Incidentally all were high performers. The younger guys with less seniority at the same level were untouched and some of them are clueless! Connecting the dots=Pensions

IT is nothing but H1bs! Has anyone walked through ITek recently? If you are an American Caucasian you are a minority as Indians are everywhere!! Hopefully I will end up at a company that respects American workers first! The sad part is not one Indian gives a sh-- about Ford and would rather drive a Honda or Toyota.

Performance didn’t seem to be a factor. I was a high performer and was let go. A friend had top acheiver ratings in each of the last three years and was let go. It may make you feel safe to think the ones who were released were poor performers but its not the case. Apparently a consulting firm recommended which positions were unnecessary and if you were in the wrong chair you were released. I still have a lot of friends at Ford. I want the best for all of them.

IF you are <50 and <$130K ish you are 100% safe - I am both and was cut, so this post is garbage.

This post is total BS. Minorities are included for sure. Many were terminated.

Many > 50 making > 150K weren't fired.

The distribution was more white for sure given there are way more white employees. But even between men and women.

Poor PR played biggest role. Then fit into the new org chart next. Pension may have played small role.

There could be outliers but the general rule for filtering was the one above. I knew it because I was part of some discussions. Take it FWIW. Not spreading rumors but trying to provide addl details. IF there are people that are let go and dont fit any of the categories please come forward so we get a better picture.

Not TRUE! Many top performing Minorities/People of color have been released too! If the formula was as simple as you listed, HR and Ford would be extremely vulnerable to law suits. No one was safe! Please stop spreading unsupported speculation! I left Ford 8 years ago, but I still have many close friends there. My heart goes out to all impacted by this extremely stressful, life changing corporate restructuring.
