Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Customers are key but............

The article today in the Houston Chronicle waits until the very end to highlight one of the major issues/hurdles as to Weatherford being able to exit Chapter 11 as a viable entity going forward.

Right now in addition to the “Perception” that WFT is actually bankrupt held by their customers, and if as the article states:

“Whether or not the bankruptcy succeeds, Mittal said, Weatherford has additional challenges to overcome. In a recent survey of 1,000 exploration and production companies, Mittal said Weatherford ranked last of seven service companies in terms of customer satisfaction.”

To have any chance they exit Chapter 11 successfully - Customers are key and if the above is correct then......................

Management who don't care about the operation shouldn't be in management. Most managers I came across in OFS would never be able to run their own company, even less.. set it up and establish a customer portfolio.

management, whether here or any where else for that matter, doesn’t care about the things most employees care about - employees are just plebes or minions - what management is focused on is keeping the MAJOR investors happy while executing in a fashion that puts the most money back in their own pocket - company be da-ned, how much money can I make.

As a former shareholder ( because obviously it’s worthless) I do wonder if executive management takes 1 minute of their day to read any of these posts. While I do understand that their are some folks (or a lot or folks) that have been done wrong by the company and post at times ridiculous comments, there are a lot of valid gripes and commentary on here to be honest. If half the board who actually does the work is saying this or that is wrong, I just don’t understand why it isn’t looked into as it’s any easy way make even small improvements. I’ve seen enough posts about Pcard abuse, etc, etc, etc. over the years and I’ve always wondered if anybody looks into it because people just don’t make this stuff up. Bottom line, I know mgt is about their bonuses as are we all, but when your company s---s and people are giving you answers for free, why don’t you listen?

It’s unfortunate that it came to this, but when folks are screaming for years and nobody listens, this is bound to happen. This might be a stupid question but did management ever go into the field once to see the real struggle to get the job done? I would be ashamed if I were them.

We have forgot that we are a service company. We need to stop the min/max bS. Give us the tools and resources to succeed. Too many non revenue generating jobs preventing us to do make money to pay their salary. So lets ride this m f'er into the ground! Its easier to not work than to work. Hell look at the new stock symbol, WFTIF, "wft if" we can do our job! I hope the senior note holders ask the working folk the changes needed. Cut some sorry a$s managers!

WFT will not succeed on this chapter 11 package deal. The company has only cut cost but the small town good old boy mentallity prevails in that company.

More of the key personnel will continue to be lost due to managers being obligated to nickel and dime their field hands.

They few good people that remain there are those waiting on green cards, US nationals in WFT are there because they s--- and can’t find a job anywhere else.

Well who would have thought ! Personnel with little or no training, badly maintained and broken equipment, managers in place because they have the right family or connections and zero experience. It’s time to pay the piper.
