Everybody seems to agree that the older, long-time employees are the ones that could have been targeted the most. Does anyone know if that was, in fact, the case today? Were the long-timers mostly hit today?

I'm a 55 with 31 years at Ford. I've been informed that I'm safe. Although my situation is a little different. I'm not in Dearborn. I'm a field employee.
I was let go today and I’d been there long enough to have a pension. There were many LL6s let go today in my area and all were old enough to have a pension. Most of them were high performing senior people so I don’t know how they decided who should go. It doesn’t appear to be performance related. Good luck to all who remain!
Let go. Walked out immediately. Late 40s. So far it's been almost entirely Men.
No in our group we kept 2 people who were retirement eligible and got rid of someone younger then them because the two people were in good with our boss. Funny thing is that these two people made way more then the other person so it would have been wiser to get rid of them to save more money. Especially since they are not good at what they do just good at s---ing up. This has motivated me to start looking for a new job as I have no confidence in this once great company. Leadership is not good.
Sorry to here you were let go. Do you feel they went by the buddy system, seniority or performance?
Target definitely 40s and above, regardless of how the company wants to spin it.
When then release you, like I was released today, they provide you with a breakdown of people that were selected and not selected and the ages. Its called the ADEA Group Information Notification.
In the LL6 group I was in, the ages were 47, 47, 55, 59.
Not really based on my limited knowledge. I know about 5 people who got let go, the average was probably early 40s.
