Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How is the job market looking realistically?

Finding a new job is never easy, I know that. But, if common sense serves me, the market should be flooded with ex-automotive workers.Almost any automotive company laid of a fair amount of employees this year. Are we really getting laid off in the time when it is most difficult to find a job in the industry?

I know Amazon is interviewing. They rejected me after two phone interviews, but I'll bet they hired somebody.

Most tier 1s have frozen hiring unless you qualify for advanced tech roles (AI and Autonomous)

I didn’t get laid off but started looking early just in case. I’m expecting to land 2 interviews this week because of it. If you’re savvy you’ll have no trouble.

Hiring freeze mentioned at my place, tier 1. Uncertain as to others.

Yep my own thoughts... tier 1 lay-off employees but never makes the news
