Our depot was informed that there will be 100 new positions throughout the company. That being said we would have to apply for them and there is no guarantee we will get the job. We will be treated as new hires just like someone who applys from the street. Our dsl pretty much put it as we have a long shot and our prior history with the company doesn't matter. So yea do you guys really want to work for a company who thinks so low of us?

4000 people fighting for 100 jobs that have not posted yet. What going to happen once hired and a year or so in? The good old Nestle way of business of trimming fat by letting people go and double your work for the same money.
Everyone should try and stay long as possible.
That way when I get my severance and start looking externally I am not competing against 4000 people from Nestle. :)
Seriously, get your retention and severance money and gtfo. Go try something new and expand your resume. Apply for a management role at another company, start your own bakery, go work at a pro shop, get that certification you’ve thought about, go back to school.
Swing for the fences, you might surprise yourself.
Good luck all-
