I don't think that is an accurate representation of what Octane or BC management is doing at all. They buy companies where management has essentially been coasting on former glory, sustaining revenues at no matter what cost as well as deferring making any tough choices and return them to fighting weight.
SG unfortunately they have been saddled with paying for bad management. For the trailing twelve months, SG&A inside Symantec has been over 60% of revenues... that's worse than CA folks.
If Hock and his posse do their thing that they do so well, the BS will be dissipate and excellent products will thrive.
Broadcom is doing what CA did in the 90’s. CA destroyed those products. Turns out cutting 50%+ staff might be needed after all
If you have two investigations going on, focus the attention elsewhere and buy a big company. Or two.
