Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Contractors splicing fiber on picnic tables. Great company image. Whats next?

Taking more work away from inhouse techs and giving to contractors. Whats next? If you had it in writing in the form of a contract it wouldnt be happening this way. Inhouse would take priority over contractors. But alot of you still dont get it and its amazing how brainwashed you are and believe everything management tells you.

These splicers are everywhere..running fiber and splicing it. What makes you think they won’t be running the drops and doing the installs. Open your eyes guys!! Tomorrow is not promised!!

Nothing like glass hot dogs and hamburgers for the fourth on a nice wooden picnic table!

Its absolutely worth the 1%. All depots need to join in already. The company changes and takes away things on a monthly basis. Its ridiculous already. Its all about their numbers and we are being used at their disposal.

For the billionth time, please stop spreading false information. This does NOT happen in our shops since we & the company are bound to our contract which states that in house techs are the primary workforce & will get the majority of the work. We have been getting asked to work every holiday so far including tomorrow. Standby is in our contract if needed as well as night differential. Don’t forget that non union shops have no grievance rights so the company will ALWAYS have the final say in anything & can change ANYTHING they want with absolutely no notification at all. I think that’s more than worth the 1% dues we have to pay, don’t you?

There are several contacts already in play and it’s still happening so what good does it do? In fact, no contract has gave us more. Unions don’t care, management don’t care. Just collect your check and go home.

sad, quality is out the door, and craftsmanship is a dying attribute company's no longer want to pay for, only to revisit it near bankruptcy.

I’ve seen a few pics. Please don’t share them. They’re just trying to make a living.
