Coherent bought Rofin in 2016 as a way to jump start their presence in the Fiber Optic Laser market. Rofin was in the midst of a stockholder revolt at the time and Coherent picked the company up for ~800M. The problem is they've sunk another $800M straightening out the Rofin trainwreck left behinds. The missed ROI schedule on this acquisition has been bad optics for shareholders, stock has lost 50% value since it's high in 2018. My personal experience is high turn-over, revolving door personell and to stay away from HR.
