Today they told employees that if they don’t have enough work then they have to use vacation time or take leave without pay. This is a joke. Prepare for another RIF.
While I agree this is a joke and no way to treat employees, I will still rather take force unpaid vacation than being laid off. For as long as there is an end in sight, that is. I'm thinking this is a way to prevent further layoffs, rather than be an indication of one.
During the pandemic, the government should audit all manager-level and above who are working from home for all GD divisions. No one at all works a full 8 or 9 hour day at home nor in the office; more like 4-5 hours, then run errands.

Are you stating NBIB would initiate the stop work order or GDIT? Rumors are flying that GDIT is losing the contract, trying to sell it to (scis!?) etc. This company went from a great employer to terrible very quickly. Employees faith in GDIT is next none especially after that surprise RIF last week.
At this point, management just needs to be honest and admit that we are not going to be retaining the OPM contract. The entire workforce has lost all confidence in them and there is zero trust. Its almost comical to read an email from the program manager telling us that there are no additional RIF actions planned, and yet we all know from experience that this statement has been made just prior to each previous RIF action. This program has been doomed ever since the merger. Each day more and more staff are making the decision to leave on their own. With the currently workforce numbers we must now have, there is simply no way for us to be able to meet our contractual obligations. Expect the stop work order to come any day now.
