Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

No one to close

What is a member of leadership to do on a Saturday when the closing SFL calls off, the other leadership member is out of town, and the store manager refuses to reply to texts/phone calls? Family obligations tonight. Cannot stay to work a double.

Call other SFL and leadership in your store. 3x for ASM and SM. If no answer call DM. It's up to DM to find coverage otherwise call SOC and tell them you're closing early.

It's not the SFL to stay that extra shift, it should be the Assistant Store Manager or the Store Manager.

And it's the people willing to work those slave shifts that's the problem! If more people started saying NO, then maybe things might change! And that includes those un-willing to work those shifts but they work them anyway.

Walgreens doesn't care about their employees, they just want the store open, even if that means making people work slave shifts

Your job is to work YOUR shift and go home and tend to YOUR family obligation.

Is Walgreens YOUR company, no. Did you try to get coverage, yes. You are under NO obligation to screw up YOUR life to accommodate the c-appy work environment and atmosphere Walgreens has created for its employees.

I'd say call your DM and tell them you're leaving when your shift ends, then see if they cared enough to cover the closing shift. Eff them!

And then get yelled at by the DM because you went over your hours.
