Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

No wonder best performers are usually the ones laid off by Cummins

Such a top heavy company, OMG. Several directors with no direct reports, who are they directing ?

Leadership releases a high level document called 'Goal tree' every year, they cant even get that out in January, it's pretty much March when they finally release it. There are no measurable metrics to drive the goal tree goals down to teams or individuals, there are no real data driven measurement systems in place to measure your performance - so everything is based on feedback, perception and brown nosing. When a RIF is inevitable no wonder the people who have power protect themselves and let good performers go.

Great point by @VTZrvct-3Kfhh.

Like others have said - Highly unethical company when it comes to employee matters. They Do bring in Foreign workers on VISAs under the cover of “Diversity” but in fact it is becasue they are much lower paid and fill in behind Senior people always being RIF’d....

They are a highly political, favortism company, and all about who you know.. Performance is way down the list on who stays and who goes. Age and Wages are at the top when it comes to RIF

Class action needed...

If you are over 50 with more than 15 years, then you are a goner at layoff time. A senior HR rep was actually heard saying that there is no performance difference between a fresh hire engineer out of college and an engineer with years of experience. Smh

Very true. So many high performing employees have had their careers ruined by Cummins. I do not recommend anyone ever work there.
