You can wait around for a long time hoping to get a severance package. While you wait you will be overworked, unappreciated for your real value, and stressed out. I kept hoping I would get laid off, as I watched the team dwindle in size and I had to take up the slack. Finally, for my sanity and physical health, I chose to leave the company after 15 years.
Granted West isn't holding you back, but "get out while you can" is a good suggestion. You may want to jump into the job market and grab a job while they are available, particularly if you're in a highly specialized role and don't want to relocate, or if you live in an area with limited opportunities. The more RIFs and voluntary exits means there's more competition to get what jobs are available to you. That being said, a Google search will yield a ton of resources to help you with your job search. And, there are many more job boards as well besides the big boys/girls, and sites exclusively for remote jobs. Don't lose any more sleep over the relentless chaos and uncertainty. Start exploring your options and get a plan together. Good luck!
Well said, @ZHHdYdd-1lim.
