There is probably people in APC HR just as worried about the future as anyone else. But there is a possibility a number of key APC HR have been or will be included in a retention bonus program to make an incentive to work the employees over. Problem is, the employees are working from a position of weakness and been fed a line to 'keep working as normal'. Things are anything but normal and it probably going to be bad for a lot of people. The employees need to find a legal firm of 'junk yard dog' employment law attorneys and get some strength to fight back collectively if needed and take it to a civil court. A jury doesn't have much time for big corporations screwing over their employees more especially when their senior management are walking away with a grossed up $300,000,000 between five individuals. There isn't much time and maybe this is part of the reason it is going so quickly. You all need to get organized and don't lose what is due to you.

It's why HR can't be trusted. I swear they tell every new HR person "your first responsibility is to the company, and if you ever put employees first you will be terminated." They level of shady stuff they do to cut costs and save money is technically financially smart, but completely soulless. They deserve everyone's hatred and you should never hold back from telling people in HR how pathetic they are. Case in point: creating this long "transition" period so people will voluntarily leave the company instead of staying and being entitled to company money. If you have friends in HR or treat any of them with kindness and respect, you are part of the problem, too.

This sounds like the best case scenario APC could hope for. How are OXY employees taking this?

My question is what will the voluntary retirement package look like? Will it be the same as COC?

That isn't lowkey. Everyone knows what is happening. Too bad we're just corporate slaves that clap like trained seals, anytime leadership sh--s out of their mouth during a town-hall, instead of calling them out. They did the math, why let everyone walk with two years of free pay when they can keep you for three and then fire us all once the COC expires.

I feel like oxy is lowkey being slimy but acting like they are doing us a favor by keeping the Woodlands office. I feel like it's way to get out of paying as many change of control packages as possible. Then after they get out from under the grace period they will do layoffs and attribute it to the natural market fluctuation when it was the plan all along. Just give me the coc so I can take a month off and get back to work with my pockets sitting nice.

As much as Midland may s---, you at least have zero traffic and great weather. I used to think those were insignificant factors until I moved to Houston. Never thought I'd miss Midland, but it's clearly possible once you realize how much time you waste sitting behind the wheel trying to keep your blood pressure under control.

The close will happen in the early to mid fall.

Oxy will keep the woodlands office. They made a commitment to keep it and they plan to honor it. They said GOM and Powder River will probably stay there long term. They don't know who else.

It sounds like the Energy Corridor office won't happen. They mentioned making improvements at Greenway and staying put.

VSPs will be rolled out for Oxy employees before the close, and APC employees after the close. There will be layoffs, but they want to make as many voluntary cuts as possible first. Oxy is currently on a hiring freeze except for critical positions.

They are looking at APCs benefits and may adopt some of APCs benefits for everyone after the close.

Oxy will keep the Anadarko Midland office.
