Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Anyone know which departments are next for layoffs?

The department I'm in is currently seeing a more proactive approach to off shoring. Anyone know which departments are up next n the chopping block?

All the jobs are moving to off shore - India or China mostly. In India STT is hiring like crazy.

AIS got hit with layoffs last week. My friend works there & said it was at least 25 + people. I believe they got a 30 day notice. Jobs, if replaced, will be hired in Italy, London, Poland.

Have you watched the new War Room videos posted on the internet? They talk a lot about cost cutting. They don't exactly come out & say it, but it is clear by the messaging that more layoffs are part of the plan. Unless your department is losing employees thru attrition, you will have layoffs.

Agreed. Unless you're part of CRD, expect layoffs. My department has lost almost 20 people in the last year due to attrition, so that's the only reason we have not had any layoffs.

No department is safe from outsourcing and bringing in of H1-B and Temp workers.

This sadly has been going on for since 2000, and has not slowed down.

All you can do is look for another job outside State Street or just do as a lot of workers do,

cross your fingers and pray

Any department that is not CRD, actively working on automated solutions, or hasn't faced enough natural attrition
