Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Interview Question?

I have been interviewing recently with companies all over, some of them are big names in industry some are not. The question I get quite often especially from smaller companies is "Why do you want to leave Qualcomm? It is a great company!!"

We all know the internal issues with Qcom and how a lot of employees are miserable and want to quit but it is not always an viable choice for everybody. A quick look on this forum shows you how bad work culture is. It seems that some companies are oblivious to this fact and just read sites such as Glassdoor which will never give you the truth because they get paid by companies to remove bad reviews.

Anyways, how can I address this question without bashing Qcom and come off as a bitter person? I also want to sound real, genuine and not faking the reason for my move. It won't do me any good if I say bad things about Qcom even if what I am telling is the truth. Interviewers are also engineers with extensive experience in industry, therefore I want my response to be convincing as possible.

We want to hire all exqcomers back as we are short in labor. We would have never thought there would be a hidden treasure on this forum. So tell your friends, tell your family, we are hiring! Warm regards, exec team

It is pointless to sit there and wait for 6G.

Just say "I do not wish to respond"

I said I was bored at Qualcomm. That they were good at finding what we are good at, and making us do the same things over and over, and paying us well for it. That I wanted a change.

Talk more about the expanded responsibilities at the new company. Talk about the excitement of something new. Talk about the new company's product and how you have a passion for XYZ.

Post-Q, I know I didn’t get one job in SD as the person I was replacing did go back to Q.

I hope it’s different today.

Understand their “pain points” and convey that you can jump in and solve their problems.

With smaller companies, you will end up with a wider range of responsibilities. I had to overcome that post-Q.
