The numbers are to "scare" the people. Out of 500 supposed targets, 200 have already been done last year via PRP (preferred retirement program) and few (less than 20 LL5+ "retirements" via golden hand shakes). The remaining 300 are mostly targeted on employees with "issues" -performance, attitudes, potential etc.
These employees were "selected" by management teams and their "selection" was vetted by HR for discrimination issues.
So, bottom line 300 out of 30,000 (NA salaried employees) is 1%, which at a company level is very very small.
Sh--ty for impacted people, but 99% of the NA salaried employees will NOT be impacted...
