We’re talking a whopping 500 employees here in the US. The level of anxiety on social media from the Ford “work”force is palatable and only tells Ford one thing - there are a LOT of worried nellies that underproduce for how much they are compensated and know it. I call dibs on another 500-2000 salaried going next year and the year after. This is embarrassing.

Going forward - year in and year out I believe Hackett is going to ratchet up the pressure on the slackers.
Executive Salaries could easily pay for these 500 jobs
What a disgrace the entitled few have
Ford workers act like entitled UofM fans and neither have won anything this century. It’s like a disease but will smart re-design be the cure?? Doubtful but we’ll see.
Go Bucks!!!

They will all get new jobs and move on, maybe even be happier in the end. This is the tough part tho, not fair for anyone involved, especially when company is making massive profits.
Maybe the box buyer will get canned or packaged too.
The original poster is a troll. Probably not old enough to have a job yet. Or shave.
For others reading this, we have no idea how they made their decisions of who to cut. Was each manager given a quota? We don’t know so everyone looks at their situation and says, it could be me. I’m the new guy. I’m over 50. I’ve got a pension. I’m the black guy. We don’t know.
5000 gone & nobody would notice.....nobody. How is that electric car coming? Cars selling in China? How about that invisible Bronco nobody has seen? Dual-clutch transmission still the customers' fault? Maybe the NE Pats can help in the Mgt ranks, UGH, UGH?
We are huge with 30K+ salaried here in the States... 500 is sad, very sad and many lives will be impacted... HOWEVER, there is nothing "whopping" in that number... Please do not add oil to the fire and make it even harder for the folks affected.
Also, don't want to be the grammar police here, but making your posts somewhat correct makes you come across more reliable and noteworthy. Try it...
Well bless your little troll heart. The word is "palpable".
It's a shame. Some real hard working folks lives will be changed. Inevitably there will be low performers who were taken care of by their managers that will remain in place. PR's should be done in a different way to ferret out the slackers.
As the pallets of boxes (250 each) are showing up in every building...
