Just came back from the texas meeting and while a lot of things were good, I can't help but think it's too little too late. While retail is still profitable the declining comps will make that unsustainable. I really hope the turnaround plan works but it is an uphill battle. Personally I think they should sell retail to Amazon and become showrooms for amazon products with a blend of our current assortment. Also give people the ability to order from amazon in store. Can sign people up for Prime, or charge a small fee for the people who don't want to pay for prime.

I agree Staples retail will be gone in 3-5 yrs. there is no clear sustained direction that allows the time needed to allow any plan to work. Staples has and always will be “reactive” to what the monthly numbers show- instead of trusting in the plan they put together and giving it the time to nurture. Oh and let’s not forget the 5 billion in debt just slapped into the company thanks to SP. yeah.... this baby’s toast!

Staples retail will e gone in 4 years or less. There is an axiom, "you can't go broke taking a profit" SP has proven that to be false

Maybe Amazon could turn them into mini-warehouses.

Being an Amazon show room is not going to pay the $30,000 month lease.
