Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Expect more departures

Personally I'm interviewing, I think the general populous knows the outcome that is going to occur so that is why the board has slowed. In the next few months you can expect more departures both voluntarily and involuntarily at the LT level and below the level of those that got stay bonuses. If you are integral to keeping revenue you have a chance because they'll want to not allow erosion as best they can, if you are generating revenue through bookings you probably have a short time frame to still work here if you can sell anything we have on the shelf. Problem for all of us is the reputation of our new owners in general, any current or potential customer knows their track record so you will have that uphill discussion a lot in the coming months. Best of luck to all

Been actively interviewing too. Accepted an excellent offer yesterday. It feels so good to finally put this dying company behind. It’s just on its last breath. The executive team is old, out of ideas, completely out of step with the cloud industry, devoid of strong leadership, and only focused on milking what’s left of this company.

At what level were the bonuses offered? LT only?? I see only people continuing to leave.

So we are sure about these stay bonuses? If so then yes I would agree with you. Sept or sooner, we should see some movement soon

16 mths is an interesting term... to me the new owners are forecasting it will take until September, 2020 to dispose of assets...

Stay bonuses happened. 15-20% of salary lump at the end of 16 months to stay.

Stay bonuses?!? Not for the back bone of the company, the workers on the front lines everyday dealing with all the mistakes mgnt makes. The last few weeks have been worse then ever takes all my energy just to get through the day. Now I am told more work coming our way. Upper management is so out of touch, I see no way this company will make it... Tired of the bs pep talks from the guys making big bucks and spending company money, we can't even get the basic tools we need to get the job done. Am I leaving hell no, been here to long not giving up the vacation I have earned. I do my job each day but I don't worry. Really don't give a sh--, because the bums at the top spend more for dinner then I get in a pay.

Stay bonuses to stay until they tear the company apart

Was wondering how long it would take before someone leaked the word that some got stay bonuses. Way to make the worker bees feel even less relevant than they already did.

Stay bonus is fairly common in situations like this.... those that received would be required to also sign a NDA. With the haircut the new owners took with ~$900m in defaulted loan payments, the new owners/board would have to approve ... so these would be pretty limited... sadly, it most likely will include the crack sgas LT that put us in this situation.

I've heard a few mentions of stay bonuses, but havent heard anyone at the watercooler talk about them. Any idea who got them? Terms? Timing?
