Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

FIght the fight where it matters!!!

This board is about employees finding a common place where they can vent together. I guess sort of like therapy. You cannot complain or vent your fears at the work place so this would be the next best place. This isn't a team building site or a place where colleagues can come together and introduce game plans for a troubling company - that is best done in house in the board room or getting the best of the best at Sungard in a "war room" and strategize. This board is for entertainment purposes ONLY and everything must be taken with a grain of salt...good or bad. Get off your high horse and fight the fight where it matters, within the walls of SGAS.

Personally I'm interviewing, I think the general populous knows the outcome that is going to occur so that is why the board has slowed. In the next few months you can expect more departures both voluntarily and involuntarily at the LT level and below the level of those that got stay bonuses. If you are integral to keeping revenue you have a chance because they'll want to not allow erosion as best they can, if you are generating revenue through bookings you probably have a short time frame to still work here if you can sell anything we have on the shelf. Problem for all of us is the reputation of our new owners in general, any current or potential customer knows their track record so you will have that uphill discussion a lot in the coming months. Best of luck to all

Either everyone is just worn out from the past two weeks or they're busy updating their resume's, applying for jobs and interviewing. I'm currently interviewing . ;-)

Hilarious that OPG’s post was deleted... I guess this site thought he was a bully....or maybe there is a double-secret auto delete for being delusional....

I think many here woud be more positive but the isssue is i haven't been at this company for an long time. In that short time, people whom are both on my team and whom are seated next to me has either been RIFed out or left the company. This is happening over and over again to the point i dread coming into the office!

We as employees can not vent our concerns out at the job. This site is to validate concerns that A) its a common problem through out of the company B) Perhaps there are rumors out there. Communication is poor throughout the company and of course everything is taken with a grain of salt. Unfortunately the majority of the negative rumors heard has became true. I highly doubt anyone here came into the company with negativity.

OPG is overbearing and full of himself, and not the least bit entertaining. If you find yourself reading his posts for entertainment, find a new hobby.

I don’t see anything in OPGs comment speaking directly to SGAS’ strategy. I think he is speaking in general terms. In fact his comments actually make sense. Perhaps a little to MAGA’ish for my liking but entertaining if nothing else.

You go OPG. I and others I spoke to enjoy your posts.
