Claims Elimination...any other news ?

I remember when the rumors of PC/TC's being eliminated came to be, rumors of Claims being eliminated popped up as well. Any validity to those rumors? I keep hearing of stores running new Claims pilot programs and what not, but I never heard what exactly the pilot consisted of.

My story's Claims dept initiated the more to the floor program, but DMs would never do their claims nor would they cap their bins & turn over their deleted items to claims (to markdown & put out in clearance aisles-GM & grocery).

My store just got our new Front End coach & after about 2 days at our store sent out a directive that all claims are to go to claims. No mention of more to the floor; claims will most likely be responsible for both.

So....how can they eliminate claims?

Okay everyone listen up. More to the floor was designed with one thing in mind. Eliminating claims. More and more items are cvp in our equipment. Either that or dispose. They've just gave our whole tire process to our tle department. The program is designed to eliminate hours and workforce. In the end there will be only 1 associate in claims and that'll be the supervisor. All other claims associates are being transferred out of the job. Count on your dsd force being cut also.

We started the more to floor program and it's not too bad but when we have items that can b cvp'd
We gather all and separate by dpts call the dpt mgrs to pick up and put out ....we have 1 claim sup.
and 1 fulltime dsd/ reclamation/claims n 1 part time dsd...so so we shall c wats to come

We have been more to the floor for about a month. Our reclaimations person is leaving so they are making that a part time position. The dept managers already had clearance set up by dept but it did look like a bomb went off in a few dept areas so I spent a good day cleaning it up and 2 hrs two days after to get it cleaned. Now I go out there everyday to zone and scan. Dept manager's are to set it up and bring the overstock to the back in our deleted bins. Now we only have 4 totes for returns/stolen/return center nd one for the fedex packages. More to the floor has alot of gray areas. Dept managers are to do cvp, dispose, leaking, and hazmat. We are to run to cust service 2x a day to get our returns. Dept managers open claims all of the time. Now you have to open a disposal cartan for trash. Cap supervisors do damages off the truck. No body has said anything about our hob being eliminated but it's surely coming just in matter of training everyone.

Is severance being offered for this? I know we have to accept the new job description, but I hadn’t heard about severance. If so, that’s my ticket out!

Shortly after reading this, we found out our store is going on this program, literally 2 weeks before our inventory. I'm wondering if the store mgr is going to allow this. When the Claims App dropped, One Best Way updated to show that Claims Associates owns the CVP/Clearance process. The store mgr completely ignored that part of the process and still had the DMs doing it. The team in our store is amazing. Our Claims is for the most part clean, and when the store mgr sees the mess and disaster this is going to create in the backroom where Claims is at, I'm pretty sure this part of the process won't be followed.

I'm in claims at a div 1 Walmart in central cali. My APM said "more to the floor" was mostly for neighborhood markets and small super centers. I am sure it will roll out to all stores if they are able to save a dollar from it. So far none of the walmarts I have spoken to are starting this new program. I'm hoping it will fail in pilot stores and they re think this BS!!

Now with the new Core Hours BS, it's reducing hours across the board here. They are giving out less than full time hours to associates here, which will definitely lead them to leaving Walmart for sure. Some 180m/year supercenters are getting Core Hour set ups to have........1 or 2 associates in their Claims. Stores better get ready to start getting their management team down and dirty in Claims because there won't be anyone to process or palletize anymore at this point.

We were told "more to the floor" is coming but they dont know when our store is starting it. They have been getting us prepared for taking over clearance isle and that hrs will most likely be reduced. I'm the claim sup. I have 2 ppl now but both only getting 4 days per week and more cuts to come. We had 2 DSD and are now down to 1. We have to cover DSD days off and vacations. They seem to think doing all the cvp is saving us so much time. I have news for them, it takes longer to cvp something than it does to return it. Then we have to find its home on the floor and put it there. Now cleaning up the disaster called the clearance isle will take a good portion of our day. I think they know a lot of claims associates are long term associates and this will drive us to quit. It's the new norm at Walmart.

We had to sign paperwork still stating that we were claims associate and supervisor just duties have changed. I just wish when they start a new program that they would actually have someone ready to train everyone. Going to academy is basically like doing a cbl. They don't give real hands on experience for more than 5 minutes. They just want u to read n pass test.

Our more to the floor starts week 15, first week of May. Does anyone know what happens with claims supervisor and claims associates? I'm under the impression that this not a pilot program but company wide.

I wonder how this program would work for those who close in Claims. There won't be any bins to stage small merchandise that comes to Claims the rest of the night. This is going to be a disaster in my area. We are surrounded by 180m a year Supercenters that generate endless amounts of Claims at all times.

So this new program isn't slated for nationwide rollout just yet?

We are doing pilot for more to the floor but our management say they don't know when it starts. I was so hoping for elimination and severance.

Dms will be in charge of cvp, and damages from the floor unless it needs shipped. Fitting room will be in charge of returned clothes. Claims will be over return center merchandise and the clearance merchandise w/o a modular home. Claims totes goes down to 4 gm and 2 grocery.

The new claims program will take affect @ my store in 3 weeks. I've worked here for 28 years & in claims for 20 & It looks like I'll be out of a job then. Any other available position would mean a pay cut, can't afford that so will most likely take the severance & leave .
