Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Future of HealthCare

Barrons had a front page story about us and is declaring that CVS' model represents a future of healthcare. They like us integrating Pharmacy, Store, Insurance and they think we'll spend about ten billion on acquiring physician groups and urgent care centers. Honestly, if you ask me it's a major gamble - things may work out, or we can go belly up. We'll see. No matter what happens, be ready for ton of change.

And if the Judge rules AGAINST the Aetna merger, then there goes the “future of healthcare” right out the window!

Lower costs, eventually they will integrate new metrics. Minimum of 50 blood draws to be ordered for patients a week, 1,000 new scripts quota. Etc....

Believe me, no one who reads Barrons would put their healthcare into the cracked box's hands.

Even if insurance "tells" anybody to use CVS for coverage, they don't.

I second that. A lot of these stores are digusting and the staff doesn't have enough time to clean it properly. Need to hire janitors.

It will be interesting. There are many people who won't go to a doctor's office unless it is a crisis, it is well known many men esp avoid the doc's office. Perhaps going to CVS will be easier for many people, and not the same feelings of resistance going to an actual office can stir up. If there really is a short wait time, that would make it very appealing to just about anyone.

Maybe we should merge with a landscaping, window wash and janitorial service first...and clean these filthy places up before we go into medical procedures.

I like this post-- what if we are going to be groundbreaking -- right?

Here is the story:

Just in case, I saved it here as well:

If you want to read it it starts like this:

:>CVS Wants to Fix Health Care. It’s Time to Buy the Stock.

JACK HOUGH APRIL 12, 2019

Why a CVS and not a doctor’s office? She cites the low cost, short waits, and follow-up calls, but really, it is Jesse, Jesse, Jesse. He is a care concierge, or single contact for the expanded list of services at this HealthHUB, one of three newly designed stores the company is testing in greater Houston. The stores offer a glimpse of how CVS plans to become the new front door of health care.

“We can make care more local, make it simpler, and help people achieve their best outcome at lower cost,” CEO Larry Merlo tells Barron’s. “We’re collecting data, and in the coming months, we’re going to have a picture of the path forward.”
