The board has been dead for a while, so here's a topic - To the people who got laid off, would you ever go back to Enbridge if the job offer was good? Are there any current Enb employees who got laid off in the past?
I was laid off some time ago, but I could see myself going back if the offer was right. Maybe I'm nutz. Lol.

There isn't an HR or management over sight. The Application operations services group has a director with 100 reports, but no managers. All supervisors, because managers cost money, stip, restricted stock. The PLC team in Houston is all black team members, they purged all the whites. The SCADA team got a Hispanic manager 3 years ago, he completely ran off all the white team members, and every onboarding has been a Hispanic or an Indian. And they were all brought on at the highest pay grade below supervisory, leap froging existing white staff. Not a place to be, Enbridge has had an 80% turnover in gas control, and although there doesn't appear to be a link they have had a half dozen pipe ruptures. Not a good employment choice, not a good investment choice, and not an environmentally safe company for the community.
Never!!! That company is racist and I was called a N....ger and many occasions and nothing was done.. I told higher ups and they laughed saying it was all jokes.. Knee on the back on my neck I cant breathe racist pigs go to hell
I was layed off 1 year ago.. I hated every moment I was there.. Almost quit the first month I was there.. Co workers would go on google maps and see where you lived and make comments on your house.. Admin was a hick from the woods who made racist comments.. Co workers were almost like inbreed people.. Never ever ever go back ever 😆
it was a horrible place to work.. People I worked with were strange and loved to talk snack behind your back. Never go back always look forward
A bit like “Stockholm Syndrome”?
It is natural to remember the positives. It’s basic human psyche. The difficult times, the games from management, the less than justified STIPs tend to be forgotten. And so some fall into the trap that “this time will be different”. Reality is unlikely.
Everyone good has left. Ultimate brain drain.

Like most former staff impacted by the layoffs, I was able to find meaningful employment with similar compensation in a couple of months and remain very content in my new role. Glad to hear the worst is over for the many good friends that remain and I wish you all a rewarding and successful career in the new organization.
If I was able to get a role in that intrepid Infrastructure Planning group with their immense skills and incomprehensible knowledge then in a heartbeat I would go back.
Let me see. If Enbridge undid the merger with Spectra, packed up and left the Galleria area and headed back Downtown, brought back all of the former Enbridge HR folks (pre-merger), I might consider it. Otherwise, heck no!
I did go back. Laid off then rehired a few months later as a consultant. Net effect was zero as the compensation was the same, however benefits are lower. Why not I figured. They can now pay me as i search for a permanent job.
I thought about it, strangely enough, although I left on my own and had several offers since. I think it is something that sort of pulls you back into a role you know well and folks you have learned to work with. Happened the same thing when I first joined Enbridge from a Competitor, however if you want to continue developing and learning new things you have no alternative but to move on. Looking forward is the only way to move forward, can't really do that if you keep looking back

I still look to see if there are job postings. I don't know if I could go back though. I have mixed emotions about it. Half the time it was an amazing place to be, then the last half it was terrible and one of the worst experiences of my life. I don't think it's changed a whole lot though, so I just can't see it. That place needs about 10 years and a major overhaul in attitude before I would go back.
