Power - culture toxicity and lack of trust impacting customers

What happens when bureaucrats feel like they’re losing control.? Simply put let’s add more layers of approvals, meetings to discuss decisions and then let’s have another meeting to discuss the actions that just came out of that meeting so we can report back with another meeting. The Leadership has lost trust and holds no one accountable anymore and therefore it’s gotten to the point of having to ask permisssion to go to the bathroom. All this causing delays while someone else needs to weigh in. Let’s not kid ourselves about servicing customers... it’s all about more internal controls, educating Leaders so they appear to know what is going on to their boss; and finance running the business (after all they’ve been in Operations shoes and totally understand that things should just be able to happen as quickly as they can make journal entries) . If we don’t start trusting decisions all levels holding people accountable for those decisions this business is going to come to a crippling halt all at customer expense.
