Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Who is next to be replaced?

So, now that Walmart is cutting costs by bringing in even more robots to replace us, who do you think will be next to be cut? What positions are the most vulnerable?

So are any other stores making cap 1 learn dsd? Rumor is cap 1 n dsd are suppose to combine.

If you read the job offers for cap team, it says they are to do recieving of freight and checking it in. So cap is supposed to take over when dsd leaves. Both cap 1 and 2 are to be trained on how to check in vendors and merchandise. Of course in my store our co mgr makes claims cover dsd. Even though the job offer for claims says nothing about doing dsd. Will be interesting how much stuff "gets lost" and never accounted for. Should be fun!!

Not sure who is going to do UPS/ FedEx. When the core hours were covered with me I asked that very question. Never really got an answer so I took that as they either didn't think of that or they know but couldn't say yet. Today alone I checked in several firearms and multiple cell phones. Can't just let anybody check in these items. ☹

So who does ups and FedEx deliveries since they deliver on Wed and usually after 10am if they schedule dsd 5-10am?

Dsd core hours have been cut way back 2nd qtr with the dsd simplication. Did anyone else notice the colored poster that came in stated DSD hours 4-1 but the DSD simplication guide shows no DSD on Sunday & Wednesday. Sat, Mon, Tuesday,Thurs & Fri 5am-10am. New core hours reflect this. Some store may be scheduling over that but that is what the company had set for the hours. Has anyone seen the hours change for claims? New more to the floor starts first week of may. Big changes in claims.

Dsd simplification in full swing, what exactly does that mean?

Claims possibly? With the new "more to the floor" coming week 15. Claims will only have 4 totes and new haz waste sop's. DSD Simplication in full swing second quarter. Core hours for these areas really dropped. Cap supervisors and support mgrs went to academy training for open/close the store procedures. Sounds like any area could be in the line of fire. Adaptability and flexibility is the name of this game. Good luck everyone

People need to relax. Major companies have tried the robot approach before; it didn't work then, and it won't work now. Too cost : benefit ineffective.

Plus, management wouldn't get to have fun harrassing and scaring robots like they do live human beings..
