Im retired for several years from an O&G Service provider that had about 12 times as many employees as Devon worldwide. The annual IT budget was approx. $350 million. That was total IT. I suspect at least 20% of that went to Microsoft. Seems out of control to me. Many I knew when working couldn’t create a decent MS Excel worksheet but sure could surf the web all day. Good bang for the buck?? IT is here to stay but sure looks like there could be some money saving opportunities.
