It seems like I have heard of some really key modem hardware and software people that have left in the last year (some key RF people as well). New grads will not be able to backfill the talent. So my prediction is that Qualcomm will have another major inflection point in financial performance in about 2 years. They will get a bump from 5G, but fasten your seatbelts...this thing will nosedive faster than a Boeing max 8 when there is nobody to engineer new innovative products. The chief financial engineer (GD) has left so even that speaks volumes.

The most notable thing is that with HR only boosting the salaries of a chosen few teams / groups, there will eventually be massive attrition when all the rest of the people realise that management doesn't care about them. Management will likely try something to stem the outflow but it'll be too little too late.
Mastering (real, not text book) RF design takes years of hard work and dedication. No way people fresh out of school can substitute those RF grus!
GD the axe man has felled the tree so no fruits in coming years. Off to the intel orchard now ... chop .. chop.. chop
With so much good talent leaving, all of the “excellent” QCOMA managers are now going to come into the labs and save the day! I believe in their abilities. It’s not all worthless meetings, long lunches, and PowerPoint presentations. Surely they were promoted because they were so good at engineering that they’d be able to oversee, and improve, their teams.
Seriously though, something has got to give. Critical engineers constantly leaving and being replaced by new grads is simply unsustainable.
